How do I get my apps on my new device?

Trent Paton July 05, 2010

To answer this we need to ask you…

…Did you originally purchase the apps directly from iTunes the app store?

Yes? When you plug your new device into iTunes, your apps should still be sitting in your account under the ‘Apps’. Make sure ‘Sync Apps’ is ticked, and that you’ve selected all the apps you want on your device then hit Apply, and Sync. You’ll find your apps sitting on your new device. NB. Even if the apps had been sitting within the Lonely Planet Travel Guides app on your previous device, they won’t on your new device – for reason explained here.

No? If you originally purchased the titles from within the Lonely Planet Travel Guides app, and they’re not showing up on your new device, follow these steps:

a)      Launch your Lonely Planet Travel Guides app.

b)      Go to the 'Buy Guides' section

c)      Make sure that you’re logged in to the same iTunes account you used to initially purchase your Lonely Planet content - This is really important!

d)      ‘Purchase’ the title/s you previously owned.

e)      The content will download again for free.

Sorry, but we have to say it again: Be sure that you’re using THE SAME iTunes account and you’re re-purchasing THE SAME apps that you originally bought through the master app – or you WILL be charged again.
